  • The aim of this quarterly journal is to discuss contemporary international and intergroup affairs, and to search for solutions to conflict situations in the light of general peace research theory. We define peace as absence of violence in both international and intranational relations: i. e. absence of armed conflict and realization of social justice and equity. Our main concern is with armament, and our first priority goes to efforts at disarmament. The second circle of our concern comprises problems of development, of narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor in the global society, and the satisfaction of basic human needs. Finally, the third circle of our concern comprises freedoms, the fulfilment of human autonomy, and the implementation of human rights.
